POLICE were forced to negotiate with a Warilla man after he drove home from an RBT checkpoint at Barrack Heights on Monday night.

The man, 43, had initially stopped his car when ordered to by police conducting the tests on Shellharbour Rd. However, he left for his Ulster Parade home soon after, with officers following.

The man allegedly refused to come out of his house, but after some negotiating by police, he allowed them in. He was charged with drink-driving and traffic offences.
